 Indianapolis was founded in 1821 at the request of the state of Indiana. The aim was to create a central capital, as in the case of Washington D.C. at the federal level. to create a central capital. "The Tropics Restaurant", das hier von 1950-1997 geöffent war. 2014 wurde das Restaurant abgerissen - das große Neonschild wurde eingelagert. 2018 - nachdem das Restaurant in die Route 66 Hall of Fame aufgenommen wurde - ist das restaurierte Schild wieder aufgestellt worden und steht heute wieder als Attraktion an seiner alten Stelle.
